I kicked off my costume career as an assistant and associate designer in 2016 on numerous regional shows at established theaters like Barrington Stage Company Productions in Massachusetts, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival and Miami New Drama.
Through my regional experience I’ve been able to work a little closer to home at both Princeton University as a guest costume designer on a contract basis and as an Assistant Costume Designer Off Broadway with some of the most talked about New York talent, including Arnulfo Maldonado and Dede Ayite. A highlight was working on the world premiere of Prisoner of the State, a commissioned opera from the New York Philharmonic with Swedish designer, Maline Casta. As a lifelong lover of opera, it was incredibly special to work at their Lincoln Center home base.
Throughout all of these projects, it’s been my responsibility to shop to the designer’s vision in the case of assisting, and in all cases, to work hand-in-hand with other creatives on the team, manage hiring, conduct fittings and to make sure all actors feel supported and inspired.
